Bikes and Support Vehicle

Dave and Dana will ride 3,000 miles across the country on Trek ZR 9000/OCLV 2300's. Trek, one of the key corporate supporters for The Ride, provided two tricked out pimp daddy bikes with chrome rims and mink fur seats at a discount (pictured below).

Having two identical bikes will cut down on the costs of spare parts and service. The riders will have a full set of spare tires, wheels, and other parts available in the support vehicle as needed.

In addition, they will have matching clothing that has been generously provided by Performance Bike. Matching clothing should make them stand out a little bit more in the crowd.

David and Dana have selected an Avis rental SUV for their journey. With the help of family and friends, the support vehicle will accompany them on their cross country ride. The SUV will contain bike supplies, spare parts, water, sport drinks, energy bars, snacks and luggage. It will also have a laptop with a GPS system that links their exact location to a computerized map for tracking purposes. The vehicle will not be hard to spot either... it will be covered with LAF paraphernalia and our sponsors logos.

Support Team

Bikes and vans aside, The Ride would not have happened without the dedicated support of our friends and family who will join us on the road and behind the wheel of the support vehicle throughout the journey. These are the people who truly make it all possible!

Dave and Dana would like to thank the following members of their support team:

  • Week #1: Linda Carr & Kim Lampman
  • Week #2: Rick Carr
  • Week #3: Bob & Mary Kay Spencer
  • Week #4: Tanya Mackiewicz & Susan Rigby
  • Week #5: Brittany & Courtney Wolanin
